an author’s deck of playing cards
I moved the classic card game Black Peter — known in English as Old Maid — into the setting of an online dating app, where all sorts of creatures are paired up and funny or absurd couples emerge. The Black Peter card itself is styled as a mobile phone screen with a notification that the dating account has been blocked. The backs of the cards form the back of a phone, so playing creates the illusion of scrolling through a dating app on a mobile. The illustrations are drawn in ink and coloured with markers. The project also included designing the card box and preparing the print files.
